Shuttle systems are one of the currently trending solutions in pallet warehousing. These solutions make use of low level automation to offer high density storage coupled with greater selectivity when compared to drive-in installations.

Pallets are retrieved by positioning a shuttle machine in the aisle. The machine then brings the pallet from its location to the front of each corridor ready for the forklift operator.

Similarly, when loading the system, the forklift truck operator places the pallet at the entrance of the tunnel and the shuttle relocated the pallet at the first available position of the active tunnel. Today, METALSISTEM presents its own racking solution for shuttle installations. This system has been developed in close cooperation with industry to meet the demanding applications of this system, to offer the most advanced structural characteristics.
